Astasia T. Lucas, Esq.

In her legal practice, Astasia Lucas, Esq. specializes primarily in family law and criminal law. Within family law, her expertise covers a wide range of cases including divorce, child custody, guardianship, adoption, termination of parental rights, and related matters. In criminal law, she handles cases involving misdemeanors, gross misdemeanors, and felonies, ensuring comprehensive representation for her clients across various legal issues.

Education

In 2020, she pursued her Juris Doctor at the William S. Boyd School of Law, specializing in dispute resolution. During law school, Astasia made valuable contributions to her community by teaching paternity and child custody classes in Las Vegas.  She gained practical experience as an extern for the Honorable Frank P. Sullivan (ret.) of the Eighth Judicial District Court, Family Division. Notably, Astasia was recognized for her exceptional skills in conflict resolution and was selected as a Saltman Fellow at the distinguished Saltman Center.

Practice

Astasia's background includes invaluable experience in various legal settings. As a Deputy Public Defender at the Clark County Public Defender's Union since August 2022, she skillfully handles criminal cases, conducts interviews, negotiates with prosecutors, and prepares for trials.

Prior to her current role, Astasia served as an Attorney at the McFarling Law Group, where she demonstrated her expertise from October 2020 to July 2022. During her tenure, she assisted with legal tasks such as drafting documents, conducting research, and meeting with clients. Before that, she gained valuable experience as a Law Clerk at the Nettles | Morris firm, where she provided invaluable support in drafting legal documents, conducting research, and providing analysis in various cases.

Astasia's dedication to the community is evident through her involvement with the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada's Children's Attorneys Project, where she served as a Law Clerk during the summer of 2020. Her responsibilities included drafting legal orders and memos, observing court proceedings, and conducting research

During her leisure time, Astasia enjoys the company of her loved ones, including her dog, Ace. She possesses a passion for travel, concerts, and staying up-to-date with the latest movies.
